DebtBook does not publish a price. DebtBook renamed itself Monetary on October 13, 2026, and every product on the Monetary pricing page, including GASB 87 lease and GASB 96 subscription management, is sold by custom quote with no free trial. What Monetary does publish is the package structure: a Starter lease package for up to 15 agreements and 2 users, and a Complete package with unlimited agreements and users plus AI data entry.
If you are pricing DebtBook because a renewal or a first GASB 87 audit is coming, count your leases and subscription arrangements and abstract a few of them before the first call. You can upload a lease and get its terms as structured fields today, then ask every vendor to quote on the same data.

Is DebtBook now Monetary?
Yes. debtbook.com redirects to monetaryhq.com, and the company page is titled DebtBook is now Monetary. A CEO letter dated October 13, 2026 explains that DebtBook was built in 2019 for public sector debt management, added lease and subscription accounting for GASB 87, GASB 96 and ASC 842 at customer request, and has now launched cash and investment management on the same platform. The company calls it a rename, not an acquisition and not a pivot, and says nothing about existing accounts, contracts or data has changed. It also says it updated its privacy policy, acceptable use policy and service level agreement as part of the switch, without materially changing customer rights.
For a buyer, the practical effect is on search, not on price. Software directories, procurement records and your own old quotes still say DebtBook, while the vendor site, invoices and sales team now say Monetary. Use both names when you search your contract files and when you ask peers what they pay.

Monetary says every plan includes implementation, ongoing support, secure cloud access and automatic updates. Its FAQ says pricing depends on the size of your organization and the features you need, and that there are no free trials, only a custom demo.
What is in the Starter and Complete lease packages?
Starter is built for smaller organizations with up to 15 total agreements. It includes 2 users, full automated general ledger functionality, determination questions, schedule creation, journal entry exports, audit note exports, change management, and account and reporting settings. That covers the core GASB 87 cycle: decide whether an arrangement is a lease, build the schedule, post the entries and produce the note disclosure.
Complete removes the agreement and user caps and adds the features that save the most staff time at scale: AI data entry, an ERP export format, automatic materiality determination, saved reports, payment reporting, reconciliation, milestones and SBITA project management. The one to notice is AI data entry. On its GASB 87 page Monetary says you upload the signed agreement and it extracts the commencement date, term, payment schedule, escalations and purchase or renewal options, each linked to the page it came from. On Starter, someone types those terms in.
How much does DebtBook cost per lease?
There is no public per lease figure, because Monetary does not price that way in public. The two published limits tell you how a quote will be built. If your lease and SBITA count fits inside 15 agreements and two people do the work, you are a Starter customer. A county with 40 building and equipment leases and 60 software subscriptions is 100 agreements, which puts it on Complete whatever the price turns out to be. Count both leases and subscription arrangements before you ask, because both use the same agreement count.
Implementation is included, with a dedicated team handling data migration and training. Monetary also offers premium implementation and trained partner firms for teams that want more of the work done for them. Ask whether either one is a separate line item, and get it in writing.
DebtBook pricing compared with vendors that print a price
Most lease accounting vendors quote, so a published number is rare. These are the ones we have verified on the vendor sites themselves.
| Vendor | Published price | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Monetary (formerly DebtBook) | None, custom quote | Starter up to 15 agreements and 2 users; Complete unlimited |
| Cradle | $99 a month up to 10 agreements, $199 up to 20 | Lease accounting with GASB 87 and GASB 96 pages, users not counted |
| iLeasePro (iLeaseXpress) | $149 a month up to 15 leases | Lease accounting with a free trial and no setup fee |
| FinQuery LeaseGuru | $1,099 a year for 10 leases, $1,925 for 15 | Small portfolio product; the main FinQuery platform is quoted |
| Crunchafi | $300 per lease, or $2,000 for up to 8 leases (June 2026 figures) | Company track; CPA firm and Enterprise pricing are quoted |
For a small entity with a handful of leases, those published prices set a useful ceiling for the conversation. For a larger government that also wants debt, cash or investment management, the comparison is different: you are buying a treasury suite, and the lease module is one part of it. The DebtBook alternatives comparison covers which of these vendors also handle GASB 96 and which read lease PDFs with AI.
Does DebtBook have a free trial?
No. Monetary states on its pricing page that it offers no free trials and will show the product in a custom demo instead. It does publish self-guided product tours of its treasury platform, which take about five minutes. For the lease side, you can test the extraction half of the job on your own documents right now, without a call, which tells you more than a scripted demo about how messy your leases really are.
What drives the price up
Four things move a DebtBook or Monetary quote, and you control most of them. First, the agreement count, leases and SBITAs together, and whether it crosses the 15 agreement Starter line. Second, the number of people who need access, since Starter stops at two users. Third, the modules: lease and subscription accounting alone is one quote, debt, cash and investment management on top is a very different one. Fourth, the implementation route, standard, premium or through a partner.
The cost that never shows up on any quote is reading the leases. Someone has to pull the commencement date, every escalation step, renewal and purchase options and the payment schedule from each signed lease and amendment, and check it. Done by hand that runs about 4 to 8 analyst hours per lease. On Complete, Monetary AI data entry handles the schedule fields. For the full abstract, including maintenance, insurance, assignment and notice terms that facilities and risk teams need, see our GASB 87 lease accounting software guide, which explains how abstraction and calculation fit together.
Questions to ask before you sign or renew
- Which package do we land in, and what happens to the price when our agreement count passes 15, or passes the number in our contract?
- Is AI data entry included at our tier, and does it cover amendments and renewals or only the original lease?
- Is implementation priced separately, and what does premium implementation add?
- What is the renewal increase cap, and does the rename to Monetary change any contract terms or the service level agreement?
- If we leave, in what format do we get our leases, schedules and journal entry history back?
Most public entities buy this through a formal solicitation, and running the quotes through proper procurement software keeps each vendor answer comparable line by line instead of buried in email threads.
The short version
DebtBook, now Monetary, publishes no dollar price and no free trial. The lease and subscription module comes as Starter, for up to 15 agreements and 2 users, or Complete, with unlimited agreements and users and AI data entry, and everything else is a custom quote. Count your leases and SBITAs, abstract a few real ones so every vendor quotes on the same data, and compare the quote with the vendors that print a price before you renew.
